In today’s 21st century, our beliefs are different than they used to be in past. Today’s people believe that we live in golden ages and better we are now than we ever were. There are many facts which could prove that belief wrong. Take an example of the dowry system in Nepal. System that is mainly practiced in South Asian countries.
Dowry system is one of the worst social evil which is prevalent in our society. It is the system of giving money to the daughter by their parents when they get married.
Dowry system as a social practice has declined the status of women in the society. This system is mainly followed in poor family because they have to borrow huge amount money by mortgaging their properties for their daughter marriage, which further causes a great suffering both daughter and parents. It also becomes the cause of quarrels, when the dowry brought from family is not satisfactory. Due to this social evil, sometimes the girls commit suicide when her husband’s family forces to bring property.
For the better progress and prosperity of the society such social evil should be abolished. There must be good co-operation among the society. Strict rules laws and regulation should be made by the government of Nepal. Dowry system should be ignored by each and every member of the society.

Our parents or teachers or elders used to teach our property is our education but now i think i am wrong.especially for girls education does not work to get marry firstly,she have to lure their in-laws by giving dowry.
